Distribution of the arginase activity in teleostean fish, carp Cyprinus carpio tissues

Abstract

|
|
Arginase (L-arginine amidinohydrolase, EC 3.5.3.1) in teleostean fish, carp, Cyprinus carpio, fssues has been studied. The activity of this enzyme has been found in every tissues so far examined. Se inal vesicle and intestine contained the highest activities (expressed as that amount of 1 μmol of arginine ormed to ornithine per min under the conditions described Eye, ´brain, heart, and muscle exhibited a little lower activities. The lowest activity was found in gills, kidney, stomach and liver.
